EPIC FAIL at Dunkin’ Donuts Norcross, GA 1300 Indian Trail Lilburn Rd. – Donuts? We don’t sell donuts?

Posted by mandyf on September 5, 2011

The “Donut Nazi” at Dunkin’ Donuts 1300 Indian Trail Lilburn Rd. Norcross, GA is back. Not that he was every really gone, but does anyone at Dunkin’ Donuts corporate pay attention to how franchise owners operate stores bearing the Dunkin’ Donuts name? As some people may recall, it was only 3 weeks ago that the  Norcross, GA Dunkin’ Donuts 1300 Indian Trail Lilburn Rd. was out of donuts because the owner told employees not to make fresh donuts until the old donuts had all been sold. That meant if you wanted glazed donuts and there were still loads of those funky cream filled donuts hanging around, no new glazed would be made until the cream filled donuts were sold. What a business plan!

It took three days, several Atlanta area blogs and webzines covering the story and a conversation with a corporate representative over the phone to get things right, but eventually things were better. Not working correctly by any stretch of the imagination, but better. The new strategy was to make the best selling donuts, but just a dozen at a time. What was screwed up about that was that if two people in line each wanted a dozen glazed donuts, the second person was out of luck. Lena from DD corporate offered to have the Donut Nazi call me, which I said would be great. He never did though. He wouldn’t even return calls left at the store for him. The DD solution was to mail me a $10 card and think happy thoughts. How well do you think that turned out?

At least the Donut Nazi at the Norcross, GA Dunkin’ Donuts 1300 Indian Trail Lilburn Rd. sold a few donuts for a little while… Then it changed again.

As the days stretched on the supply of anything that had to be prepared in advance at the Norcross, GA Dunkin’ Donuts 1300 Indian Trail Lilburn Rd. got shorter and shorter. Finally, on Labor Day of all days, it was back to ground zero at the Norcross, GA Dunkin’ Donuts 1300 Indian Trail Lilburn Rd. The Donut Nazi killed the donuts again. Worst of all, you had to feel awful for the employees that had to stand there apologizing for having almost nothing to sell.

Glazed Munchkins are apparently a thing of the past – even though they actually sell pretty well it seems. For a week now, there have been no glazed munchkins at Dunkin’ Donuts Norcross, GA  1300 Indian Trail Lilburn Rd. It’s a staple item of DD everywhere except in Norcross it would seem. Chocolate covered donuts? Out of luck, they don’t make chocolate covered donuts at Dunkin’ Donuts Norcross, GA  1300 Indian Trail Lilburn Rd. now. Boston Cream pie donuts? You are out of luck again! They had a total of 4 of those at Dunkin’ Donuts Norcross, GA  1300 Indian Trail Lilburn Rd. They only had 4 which meant the guy in front of us got those and had to pick what crap was left on the empty shelves to round the order out.

What is really messed up about the situation at Dunkin’ Donuts Norcross, GA  1300 Indian Trail Lilburn Rd.? When the donut racks are better than half empty with the remaining racks holding only a few donuts on each, that is not a Dunkin’ Donuts. When there are so few donuts they can ALL be placed in the small display case by the register, that is just bad. When you get donuts that are HARD to the touch with no springiness – that is wrong.

When employees have to apologize for not having something to sell, that is wrong. I mean, what the hell kind of Dunkin’ Donuts is it when the poor woman working the counter has to tell you they do not have a half dozen plain donuts to sell? How the hell can you not have even a half dozen plain donuts? How can you only have some pumpkin munchkins and 3 or 4  of a few types of donuts? What kind of asshole boss puts his employees in a position of having to ask people to eat  the leftovers, at FULL PRICE, so they can get permission to make some fresh food?

I’ll tell you what kind of Dunkin’ Donuts it is. It is the Dunkin’ Donuts Norcross, GA  1300 Indian Trail Lilburn Rd. where you take whatever they have or you leave empty handed. If you want 6 of the same donut – tough! If you want anything but pumpkin munchkins – tough. You can get a cup of coffee. You can buy a soda or juice – at least most of the juices are somewhat well stocked.

Dunkin’ Donuts Corporate, particularly Lena, Guest Relations coordinator, is anyone going to actually do anything about the way this guy is trashing the DD brand name? We give up on this location. The Donut Nazi wins. It’s not worth the aggravation of seeing employees that have to cover for their boss’ lame ass policy that directly flouts corporate policy. It’s not worth seeing the manager there having to explain to dissatisfied customers why they cannot be served basic items. Getting the morning order for me and the office just isn’t worth having to walk into the Dunkin’ Donuts Norcross, GA  1300 Indian Trail Lilburn Rd. and make an order based on the question “What is the freshest item today?

Lena at Dunkin Donuts corporate take notice, this issue was not resolved. The situation has gotten worse than it was, and I am really beginning to doubt that you all care about your corporate image or name at all so long as you get a franchise fee. If that is the case , let us all know. In short, Dunkin’ Donuts Norcross, GA  1300 Indian Trail Lilburn Rd. is a steaming pile of dung because the owner runs his franchise like that. Maybe a little more lost business will force him to shut down opening the road for something useful. The  Dunkin’ Donuts Norcross, GA  1300 Indian Trail Lilburn Rd. has great employees but the owner sucks – and that is the straight deal.
